This 1200 square-foot addition includes a main floor family room and dining area. Along with a second floor master bedroom with a walk in closet and luxury ensuite four-piece bath. To keep your feet warm in the winter, in-floor radiant heating was installed in the main floor and in the luxury ensuite bathroom. Low E, vinyl windows were used throughout. Off the master bedroom is a walk out deck with vinyl cladded railing on three sides. |

Sometimes you’re happy with where you’re living but just wish that you had more space. The client requesting this renovation wanted to increase the size of their one floor home while maintaining access to the outdoor patio and their backyard. This 600 square-foot addition was built by Walzak Construction Limited, a finalist in the 2006 national Canadian Home Builders Association, SAM Awards in the Renovations: Additions category.
This main floor family room with its vaulted ceiling provides an excellent space for the family to spend time together. The low-E (low emissivity) aluminum clad windows provide excellent insulation while the in-floor radiant heating and the ductless mini-split air conditioner with its remote control provide year-round comfort. The deck off the family room provides a shaded spot to enjoy the outdoors. The choice of transparent siding on the deck allows the family to enjoy watching the deer in the yard while sitting in the comfort of their new addition.
